I did not get its photos and tried not to look at it, lol. 1300 Oak Grove Rd Pine Mountain, Georgia 31822. Wild Animal Safari is a drive-thru adventure where you can see more than 550 wild animals along the way. Of course, if you know anything about male peacocks with a crush, you know that every time I’d turn towards it to take a photo, it would come towards me. From camping adventures and wild animal safari expeditions to water sports, children are easily entertained in Troup County. I think it had a crush on me, to be honest. We are open throughout the year and are located in Pine Mountain, GA. Visit our ticketing page to reserve your spot for one of our animal safari tours. I even had a friendly peacock that followed me around the entire time. Stretch your legs and make friends with our resident Bengal tigers, African lions, peacocks, exotic birds, lemurs, monkeys, and much more. They came right up to the fence and followed me from one exhibit to the next as far as their fence allowed. There’s not a whole lot of animals at this time but the kids will really enjoy seeing them all up close. There is also a little walk-thru zoo that I checked out while I was there. They sell animal food suitable for all of the animals in the office where you get your tickets. All of the animals would stick their heads in the car windows to get a treat. No matter how smelly it was, I’m glad I did not take my own because it was worse when I ended my tour thru the safari. Keep scrolling to see this wild animal-looking ride. My photos aren’t that great, as I was driving, feeding animals, and trying to snap photos alone, all at the same time, but they’ll give you a little bit of an idea of how much fun this place really is.īefore you view my photos, I made a little video of my adventure that I think you’ll enjoy. Cons to this are the strong animal smell of their vehicles plus it was a little pricey to rent their vehicle (which I would still choose to do). Pros to this are, in case any animal decides to get too close it could cause a dent in your vehicle. I rented one of their safari cars with bars on the windows and I highly recommend doing that unless you want animal slobber all in your vehicle. I didn’t feel threatened by the animals at any time, although they’re bigger than I thought they’d be, lol. I went alone on my first trip to the Wild Animal Safari to see how safe it was for kids (I’m overly protective) and I’m happy to say that I’m definitely going to take the grandkids next time. Because I’m a huge nature lover, I knew I would really enjoy a safari. I do try to do things on my bucket list but I also like to be sporadic and find new places to visit. I had researched things to do that I’ve not already done on my many trips to Callaway Gardens and I found the Safari online. I decided to spend a few days and grab some much-needed rest and relaxation to see some fun sights, at the famous Mountain Creek Inn at Callaway Gardens and Resort, and on my first day there, I headed up to the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain Georgia. Not only that, you can feed them from the comfort of your car (or theirs). If you live in Georgia and are anywhere near the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain Georgia, you really should pack up the family and visit this fun place that puts you right smack dab in the midst of wild animals. I went in the middle of winter but I think it’s a perfect place to visit any time of the year. Everyone was really kind and friendly. If you’re looking for something fun to do this summer that allows you to stay in the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle while providing loads of laughs for the family, this post was created to help. There's a picnic table next to the animal area so you can eat "with" them. I had a smoked sausage sandwich from their gas station and bought some pickled quail eggs and pecan sandies. All of the animals looked healthy, although one of the tortoises was tearing up quite a lot (which can be normal). Tortoises are difficult to maintain, from my experience. The tortoises are massive- they must take good care of their animals to have gotten two to this size. The larger animals intimidated the smaller ones, so I threw several handfuls to scatter and distract, so that I could pet some babies through the fence! The animals choke themselves on the wood slats with excitement to get feed from you. I was scared to hand feed the emu so I left a handful on a post. I got up close with an emu, several adorable baby goats, two llamas. For $5 entry and $1 animal feed, I saw the largest Solkata tortoises I've seen in my life.
